FOJAB designs rebuilding project for Akademiska Hus office in Lund, Sweden

FOJAB has been entrusted with the design of the Akademiska Hus administrative office "Handsken" in Lund. The office, located in a cultural-historical building from 1918, is in need of renovation and adaptation to the needs of the business. The assignment includes remodeling and furnishing mainly offices and meeting rooms.

The building, which is a former glove factory, underwent extensive renovation and new construction in the early 1990s, designed by FOJAB. Now the business needs new premises.

The renovation of the Akademiska Hus office aims to create better flows in the building, refurbish the building and adapt the floor plan to developed working methods in line with the Akademiska Hus workplace concept. The remodeled office will be an activity-based office and contain areas that support identified needs and create an environment with different types of workplaces.

- It feels great to have the opportunity to once again design the rebuilding of Akademiska Hus' administrative offices in Lund. A culturally valuable building with a lot of history and qualities that needs to be adapted to today's modern operations and needs. Akademiska Hus also has high climate goals and we want to contribute with our sustainability thinking, says Daniel Nord, CEO of FOJAB.

Akademiska Hus is one of Sweden's largest real estate companies that builds and manages knowledge environments for universities and colleges.
