We see mobility hubs as attractive transport nodes and effective tools in the climate transition.

All cities, companies and organizations are currently thinking about how to reduce their carbon footprint and how to solve the issue of sustainable transport. We believe that mobility hubs are important pieces of the puzzle. With the right design, programming and placement, mobility hubs can encourage behavioral change to make the movement of people and goods more sustainable.

We are no longer talking about parking garages as mere storage spaces for cars. Instead, the new mobility hubs focus on the sharing economy, mobility on demand, charging facilities and different types of vehicles. They can provide local energy supply and jobs that increase social sustainability.

At FOJAB, we have cutting-edge expertise when it comes to mobility hubs and how they can be programmed and designed. We participate in research studies and run our own research projects.

Waste material facade

The Hyllieäng mobility building in Malmö is now complete, with its facade made from recycled glass panels from the Orkanen university building, leftover plates from heat exchangers and waste from the manufacturing industry. And when the mobility house has reached the end of its useful life, the 2,400 square meter facade will be dismantled and the material used once again.

Conversion of car parks

Parking and mobility buildings are good examples of buildings that are currently used for a specific purpose but where the need is very likely to decrease over time. We have studied what would be required of a new mobility facility today to allow it to be converted to housing or offices in the future.

The best looking solar house

The Solkvarteret mobility building in Malmö, designed by FOJAB, has the finest solar installation in southern Sweden! This is according to the association Solar Region Skåne, which awards the Solkvarteret the Skåne Solar Award 2022.
