We optimize the whole
When we use the earth's resources to create buildings and places, we have a responsibility. We must ensure that what we contribute is attractive, resilient and fit for purpose, so that it is loved and cared for and therefore long-lasting.
Use times Time divided by Resources is our sustainability formula - an equation that provides a holistic perspective that helps us achieve maximum sustainability dividends in each individual assignment.
In working with Factoriesan office building in Malmö, the formula was a concrete tool to optimize the sustainability of the building:
To maximize use, we worked with a flexible layout, maximized office space by sharing the stairwell with the adjacent parking garage, green roofs and a terrace.
Time is about the building having a long life, which we at Fabriken achieve by building attractive and well-functioning offices with high ceilings for flexible use, with robust materials and attention to detail. A well-liked workplace that the business identifies with and feels ownership over will remain and live for a long time.
In the case of the Factory, resources included keeping material consumption low, using recycled materials and concrete with a reduced carbon footprint, fitting the building with solar panels and keeping energy consumption low.
