LCA and life cycle assessment
Sweden will become the world's first fossil-free country and be a leader in the global effort to realize the goals of the Paris Agreement. This is a goal that we at FOJAB actively support - in everything from planning to implementation.
Today, the construction and real estate sector accounts for about 20 % of Sweden's greenhouse gas emissions. To reach the national climate targets by 2045, emissions must be reduced by at least 85 % compared to 1990. This requires conscious material choices and a circular mindset.
Life cycle analysis (LCA) is an important tool for calculating and assessing environmental impact, and at FOJAB we are also developing our own methods for calculating the climate impact of our buildings. FOJAB has taken an active role in leading the work on climate-neutral building materials in the network. LMF30.
With our digital models, we want to control the total climate impact of each individual project - in order to design our buildings in a way that slows down global warming.
