Architect/Historic Preservationist, Existing Buildings, Helsingborg
Do you want to work with what already exists—and make it better? Are you driven by a desire to understand, evaluate, and develop existing environments of high architectural quality? Do you want to be part of a context where cultural environments, renovation, and transformation take center stage?
At FOJAB, we are expanding our work in the areas of cultural heritage, remodeling, renovation, restoration, reuse, and transformation. We have several new, long-term projects and are now looking for an architect or cultural heritage specialist who wants to help develop our work in Helsingborg.
About the Role
With us, you’ll have the opportunity to work in a field that is both timely and crucial to the future of sustainable construction. Your primary responsibility will be to work on cultural heritage programs for municipalities in the region, alongside projects where you’ll provide consulting, design, and historical research.
You will move between analysis and design, between strategy and project planning, always with a focus on the existing built environment. You will work independently, but in close collaboration with colleagues in the fields of cultural heritage, renovation, and architecture.
We believe that you...
… has a clear focus on existing buildings and a strong commitment to combining cultural and historical values with architectural quality.
… is accustomed to working through all stages of a project, from the initial sketch to the final design documents, and can balance cultural heritage, economics, constructability, sustainability, and aesthetics to create effective solutions.
… have experience in cultural heritage work; you are accustomed to developing cultural environment programs, building inventories, and/or preliminary cultural heritage surveys; and you are confident in identifying, describing, and justifying cultural-historical values.
… express yourself very well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and are comfortable in a role where analysis and clear communication are central to the job.
… works independently and in a structured manner, but values collaboration and the exchange of knowledge with others.
It is advantageous if you have experience with municipal planning and permitting processes, meet (or satisfy) the requirements for a cultural heritage expert as specified in BFS 2011:15, and have your own client contacts or network within the field of building preservation and renovation.
Your Role with Us
At FOJAB, you’ll play a key role in developing our work with cultural heritage and renovation. You’ll contribute to ongoing projects, participate in projects at various stages, and help build relationships and partnerships over time.
You’ll become part of a community where we combine different skills and perspectives—and where we work together to develop architecture with long-term value.
With us, you'll get
Work in a growing and cutting-edge field of architecture; participate in long-term, high-caliber projects; develop your skills alongside dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues; work in a culture characterized by curiosity, collaboration, and high standards; and have the opportunity to influence both projects and work methods
Does this sound like your next challenge? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
