Parametric design
In the Flow office building in the Malmö district of Hyllie, you are greeted by an undulating wall in the entrance. The wall is an example of how we work with parametric design. We have developed a script in the drawing tool Grasshopper and when it is linked to the model in Enscape, we can test different looks on the wall in real time. Patterns are generated based on images and parameters such as depth, width and distribution. The big advantage is that the client can sit next to it and get an immediate understanding and feel for the end result. You also get an immediate idea of area, volume and weight. Once the appearance has been selected, the script generates cutting files and finished production drawings.
